Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the President Judge of Allegheny County has extended our judicial emergency until 12/31/2020. The Adult Probation offices remain closed to the public. POs have returned to field operations and supervisors have returned to their offices in limited capacity. Non-electronic requests will be returned to the sending county. IC packets should be emailed to Craig Jonas at Craig.Jonas@alleghenycourts.us and Cc Sarah Manning at SManning@alleghenycourts.us . Out of an abundance of caution, probation staff will not be administering drug testing until further notice.
Chester County is accepting transfer in cases. The client’s will be supervised by tele-communication or placed on pro track/pro mobile if appropriate. We are conducting face to face contacts on a limited basis and field work is also being limited at this time. Our staff are still working remotely when possible and staff have access to tehir emails at home. In addition, if there is an EHC component the hook up may be delayed depending on the availability of equipment.
Montgomery County is operating on a limited basis and our offices remain closed. We are not sending transfer cases out and, in turn, will not be accepting courtesy cases for supervision. Consideration for acceptance will only be given to cases with special circumstances (Domestic Violence, Sex Offender, SMIs). Electronic Monitoring cases cannot be monitored for other counties at this time.
Sullivan & Wyoming County
Wyoming and Sullivan Counties are accepting intercounty transfer case but it should be known that we will be doing most of the contact via telephone, mail, zoom, or at a/ 6-foot distance at a minimum outside the courthouse. Officers to refrain from having any unnecessary contact with offenders at this time.
Effective 6/1/2020, the Philadelphia Adult Probation and Parole Department is reopened; however, we will not be scheduling clients to report until August 2020. Cases being transferred into Philadelphia will continue to be processed; send requests via CPCMS. Clerical Staff and Administration will be in the office 5 days a week.
Any accepted cases will continue to be supervised; with all contacts taking place via phone and email. Probation Officers will be working on a rotational basis.
